CHEEKY FLY FISHING
Cheeky Fly Fishing’s goal is to bring a fresh approach to an otherwise traditional industry. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Custom Machine in Woburn MA, I led a team of two others to help Cheeky create a set of five innovative and unique fly fishing reels.
By reverse engineering competitors products, performing patent searches, and working directly alongside a talented crew of machinists we were able to design a scalable 3D model in SolidWorks. After creating detailed manufacturing drawings and performing lifetime testing of all reels, we were able to deliver a high performance and light weight fly reel.
