PROJECT SWIFT
Project Swift was an unreleased 3D scanner that utilized an infrared dot projection system to accurately capture depth and color data and fuse them into a 3D scan on a computer.
I worked with an Industrial Designer to break up their form into manufacturable components. There were some challenging forms on this project, especially the rear housing. The final design had 6 sliding actions and a secondary overmolding process. Significant time went into optimizing the top button feel and ensuring that our light diffusing system had an even distribution of light around a thin ring.
